The benefits to the Kugel Hernia Repair procedure as compared to other hernia repair procedures are numerous. They include:

Minimal pain, early return to activities**

Patients are released to normal activities soon after surgery. There have been many instances of patients who take little or no pain medication. Although pain is relative, studies show that most patients can return to work as early as within 1 week of surgery.*

This procedure is done through a single 3 - 4 cm incision (approximately 1 inch). Other methods of hernia repair can require a larger incision, or as in the case of laparoscopy, three separate punctures are needed.
